Busy & stressful day yesterday, so no posts. I did reply to a comment
Doug made, though. If you want to leave a comment, each post has
a link on it where you can do so (anonymously, even).

T minus 10 days. The doc thinks the baby is lying in
a "transverse" way, parallel to the floor. This would
explain why K is carrying so far forward, and would
further indicate we should go ahead with the C section.

RJ seems to be settling in well at school, though he
occasionally tells us stories about his day.
Me: "How was school today?"
RJ: "I don't know."
Me: "Did you play with your friends?"
RJ: "I cried."
Me: "Really? That's OK. Why did you cry?"
RJ: "The truck is mine. Not Sean's."
Me: "Doesn't the truck belong to everyone?"
RJ: "I cried."

Names of Fire

OK guys. I cannot understand why you would not want to pay tribute to one of mankind’s most important discoveries and such a critical evolutionary step in modern man’s development. To that end, I would like to suggest several perfectly acceptable names for the new addition to the family:
Hephaestus: god of fire, thermal and volcanic activity (Greek version)
or
Vulcan (Roman Version). Which incidentally has great crossover appeal to one of my favorite TV shows
or
Agni, Hindu God of Fire. Nice ring to it, but unfortunately Agni's importance comes from use of fire in sacrifices (probably not the best message)
or
Loki: God of Mischief & Fire. One of the major deities in the Norse pantheon. Again, nice ring but also maybe just a little too violent to be appropriate... his father was a giant whose name means "cruel striker"

If none of these seem exotic enough, you could go with something from China or Japan:
Like Ho-Masubi - god of fire (Japanese) or Kagu-Zuchi - another Japanese god of fire
Mu-king (Chinese) is kind of nice too.
If none of these are recognizeable enough you could go with a name like Shiva, who transformed himself into a Pillar of fire, or bring it closer to home with a name like Pele.

These are all fine options in my opinion, with the only drawback being that they might not go over too well when he gets to junior high. Hope this helps!

I think it would be best if R & K could give us a hint on the theme. I'm sure we could come up with a lot of good names. Do you want it to start w/ a particular letter? Do you want it to be synonomous with a particular setting? Etc.... In any case, I'm sure we'd love to help.

Uhh... I haven't been specific enough? The world is divided
into two parts - fire and not-fire. I've narrowed the field
by half already. Sheesh.

:-P
